Privacy policy
Mindfall is made to help you rest, so it collects as little as it can. This page says exactly what it keeps, where, and how to get rid of it. If anything here is unclear, write to [mnmncoda@gmail.com](mailto:mnmncoda@gmail.com) and a real person will answer.
Mindfall is run by Kevon Knight, doing business as Mindfall ("we", "us").
The short version
- You can use Mindfall without an account. Everything then stays in your browser, on your device.
- With an account, we keep your saved scenes, your profile (name, picture, settings) and where you are in each story, so they follow you to your other devices. Your journal only leaves your device if you turn on "Sync my journal too".
- While you listen, the app sends anonymous listening stats (which scenes and sounds, for how long) so we know what to make next. You can switch this off: You → Settings → *Share listening stats*.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use trackers that follow you around the web.
- You can delete your account, and everything kept in it, at any time from the app.
What stays on your device
Whether or not you have an account, Mindfall keeps these in your browser's own storage on your device: your sounds and their levels, the view you're looking at, your saved scenes, your settings, your journal pages, your profile picture and name, how much you've listened, and where you are in each story. Other people using the same device and their own accounts can't see yours: each account has its own space, and signing out hides yours (or, if you choose, removes it from the device).
What we keep if you make an account
- Your email address, to sign you in with a code we email you (or, if you sign in with Google, the email and name Google shares with us).
- Your saved scenes: their names, sounds and views.
- Your profile: the name you give, your pixel picture (only the small pixel version is ever uploaded — never the photo you chose), and your settings (palette, accent colour, battery saver, movement).
- Where you are in each story: which voice, how far you've got, whether you've finished it.
- Your journal pages — only if you turn on "Sync my journal too". Otherwise they never leave your device.
- Your plan (free or Plus).
Your own listening statistics in the app (time listened, days, most-played sound) stay on your device.
Anonymous listening stats
While sound is playing, the app sends us a short record of each listening session, so we can see what people actually use and decide what to make next: which starter scene (or just "your own scene" — never its name), which sounds and view, the time of day it's set to, how long it played and how much of that with the screen off, the hour it started, whether you're on a phone or a computer, whether it's installed, whether a story or the sleep timer was on, and when a post is made or a scene shared. It carries a random number kept on your device, not your name or email; if you're signed in it's also linked to your account, and deleting your account unlinks it. Nothing you write and no recordings are ever sent. Turn it off any time: You → Settings → *Share listening stats*.
Mindfall Plus
Payments for Plus are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; Stripe keeps it under its own privacy policy. We keep only what we need to know your plan is active.
Who helps us run Mindfall
We use a few services to run Mindfall. Each sees only what it needs:
- Supabase — stores account data (above) and signs you in.
- Vercel — hosts the website and app, and gives us Vercel Web Analytics: anonymous page-view counts, without cookies, that don't identify you or follow you elsewhere.
- Cloudflare — delivers the recorded sounds and stories (like any web server, it sees your IP address when your device fetches a file).
- Resend — sends the sign-in code email.
- Google — only if you choose "Continue with Google".
- Stripe — payments for Plus.
Cookies
Mindfall doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Signing in keeps a session in your browser's storage so you stay signed in; that's all.
How long we keep things
As long as you have an account. When you delete it, your account and everything kept in it — scenes, profile, story progress, synced journal pages — are deleted for good. Backups made by our database provider expire on their own schedule (usually within days).
Your choices and rights
- See or take your data: You → Your data → *Export everything as a file*.
- Delete it: You → Your data → *Delete my account*. Or write to us and we'll do it.
- Correct it: change your name, picture and settings any time in the app.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have further rights — to access, correct, delete or object to how your data is used. Write to us and we'll help; you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Mindfall has stories for children, meant to be played by a parent or grown-up. Accounts are for people 13 and over (or the age required where you live). If you think a child has made an account, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app or on the blog before it takes effect.
